oscar party part one: the details.

a few months ago my dear friend kat had the amazing idea to throw an oscar party and of course i agreed!  we are both movie lovers and it was so fun to put this party together. side note: tyler, kat's husband and i went to high school together and our group of friends have stayed really close - i am so thankful tyler scored kat so we could become bffs.  anyway, the majority of the credit for this amazing party goes to kat!!  i did most of the food - but kat did the decor, the photobooth & props, the ballots, the invitations, so pretty much everything!  she is a party planning super star.  if you need anyone to help plan your wedding, she is your girl.  in true oscar fashion we can say kat won the award for best leading actress and i won for best supporting.  ha!  but seriously.  

we are also very lucky to have our hubbies help us put the party together.  isaac was the best bartender around and they both cleaned every dish and made the place sparkle while we hosted.  also, i must include natalie, kat's bff in the party planning magic because she helped us so much getting it all set up and run smoothly.  we love you natalie!

we served angel food cupcakes, lemon sugar cookies with lemon cream cheese frosting, chocolate mint brownies, homemade popcorn, fruit, mini oreo cheesecakes, and italian sodas.  it all turned out really yummy, especially the italian sodas.  i could really go for an orange cream italian soda right now...

we had everyone fill out a ballot and vote for who they thought would win in each category and gave out prizes to the top three.  we also had everyone take photos with the props and they turned out really cute.  it was such a fun night!  between galentine's day and the oscars it was a busy, party-filled month and made the usually dreary february infinitely better.
